Oil & gas
A pioneer in Atlantic Canada’s oil and gas industry, Martec has been providing advanced structural and environmental engineering services to the oil and gas industry for more than thirty years. Our extensive experience in advanced structural analysis techniques such as fracture, fatigue, reliability, calculation of environmental ocean loads, and SCF determination for local structural components allows Martec to deliver the oil and gas industry a wide spectrum of expert services.
Combining a unique mix of theoretical, practical and experimental knowledge and experience, Martec is able to accurately assess the structural integrity of offshore structures and the environmental impact of their operations. Specific services for the oil and gas industry include:
- Structural design and analysis for marine operations
and structures, including offshore structures, ships,
pipelines, harbours and coastal works
- Advanced structural analysis techniques including
fracture, fatigue, and reliability
- Numerical modeling of coastal oceanographic and
environmental processes, including environmental
impact assessment, drill mud dispersion, and sediment
transport
- Prediction of motion, pressure distributions,
and sea loads for ships and offshore platforms
- Explosion hazard assessment and blast impact analysis
- Environmental monitoring, environmental impact
assessment, environmental risk assessment and siltation/erosion
studies
The Canadian representative for SACS, Martec has conducted varieties of offshore analyses of platforms (ranging from seismic to structural analysis) through the use of DAMS and SACS. Martec has experience with both the “Working Stress Design” (WSD) and
“Load and Resistance Factor Design” (LRFD)
methods using SACS.
