ExxonMobil operates four offshore platforms that are used to support facilities to extract gas and transport it via pipeline to Goldboro for onshore processing. The offshore structures must maintain their structural integrity over their proposed twenty-five year life. The “TIER I” platforms consists of Thebaud Process, Thebaud Wellhead, Venture and North Triumph.

Martec, in conjunction with ACCENT Engineering, was contracted by ExxonMobil to translate the existing FE models of the four platforms from DAMS to SACS and to validate the models. The models were validated by comparison to DAMS results for the in-place load conditions.

Four validated models were delivered to ExxonMobil for use by the engineering maintenance engineering contractor.
