Chinook Software
Chinook is blast analysis software that efficiently utilizes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to model blast pressure loads on vehicles, buildings, equipment and personnel. Validated against experimental results, Chinook provides physically accurate simulations of explosive events.
Chinook is designed specifically to support ongoing advanced R&D projects such as military, civil and industrial applications involving Shock in Air, Underwater Explosions (UNDEX), Multiple Materials and Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI). Chinook is developed in partnership with support from Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and available only to members of the Chinook Strategic Partner Program.
Key features of Chinook:
- Experimentally validated Successfully validated against a wide range of experimental data in partnership with Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC).
- Designed for blast analysis Model different materials including explosives, solids, water, gases, and mixtures of multiple materials.
- Physically accurate analysis Simulate blast phenomena such as focusing, channeling, clearing and sheltering effects.
- Advanced numerical techniques Access all the essentials for performing full-scale compressible flow analysis using leading edge algorithms and material modeling techniques.
- Computationally efficient Perform complex simulations with over 1 million cells on a desktop PC.
