SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (Halifax)

Martec has an immediate opening for the position of Software Developer, working with a small team currently creating state of the art engineering analysis applications for various clients including the Lloyd’s Register ship classification society. The development team aims to convert engineering knowledge into software solutions by working closely with experts in a number of fields. Past areas of work have included ship structural analysis, explosion impact modeling, ship hydrodynamics, and data analysis.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the desire and ability to work closely on a team with a shared passion for developing great software. The candidate should have experience developing .NET or native Microsoft Windows desktop applications using Microsoft Visual Studio. Past work with MFC, Windows Forms and/or WPF are all relevant to the position. In addition, familiarity with graphics APIs such as OpenGL, DirectX, XNA, etc. would be a definite asset. The team prefers using C++ and C# for most of its development and as such the candidate will be expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages.
