Senior Aerospace Engineer

Martec Limited is specializing in the development and application of advanced engineering solutions in the fields of structural analysis. The company has been in business since 1973 and has offices in Quebec and Nova Scotia. In response to continued growth, Martec Limited’s Aerospace Group in the National Capital Region has an immediate opening for a Senior Aerospace Engineer.

The incumbent of this position will be required to fulfill the primary function of an senior aerospace engineer in the aerospace structures and certification field and will, by producing work of high quality, assist in the promotion of Martec’s technical capability. A BSc degree in aerospace engineering with 8+ years of experience is required and a post-graduate degree in engineering is highly desirable.

As a specialist engineer the incumbent will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Perform detailed loads and stress analyses of aerospace vehicles using traditional methods;
• Conduct static and dynamic FEM/FEA of composite and metal aerospace structures;
• Perform fatigue and/or damage tolerance analyses;
• Develop and prepare documentation for submission to Transport Canada;
• Write technical reports, provide and prepare technical presentations;
• Supervisor and mentor junior engineering staff;
• Assist in the development of cost estimates and project schedules.

To perform those task efficiently the successful applicant will have the following experience:

• 5+ years using ANSYS and MSc/Nastran Finite Element Analysis performing static/dynamic/non-linear simulations;
• 2+ years using CATIA v. 5
• 2+ years in civil aircraft certification (FAA or TCCA);
• Experience in the analysis of composite material structures;
• Eligibility to become a Professional Engineer in Ontario or Quebec.

Experience using LS-Dyna, Altair Hypermesh and being bilingual (English/French) are assets.
