Lead Researcher, Underwater Explosion Modelling

Summary: In response to continued growth, Martec has an immediate opening for the position of Lead Researcher, Underwater Explosions. The successful candidate will work with customers and internal development resources to conduct directed and independent research in underwater explosions. They will also be involved in business development, working to grow accounts in this area.
Education: Masters or PhD in Mechanical or related engineering field.
Experience: The applicant must have research experience in one or more of the areas of shock and explosions, dynamic structural analysis, cavitation physics; experience working with engineering analysis packages such as LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Autodyn and familiarity with commercial meshing tools such as Hypermesh, Gridgen, FEMAP; an affinity for problem solving; experience developing engineering analysis tools using C/C++ and Fortran. The applicant must also have strong written and verbal communication skills and will assume project management responsibilities.
This is a full time position based out of Martec’s head office in Halifax.
