Lead Developer, Fluid Structure Interaction

Summary: In response to continued growth, Martec has an immediate opening for the position of Lead Developer, Fluid Structure Interaction. The successful candidate will fill a key role in maintaining and further developing technology for linking Martec’s Computational Fluid Dynamics software, Chinook with third party structural and thermal analysis tools.

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science and/or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: The applicant must have demonstrable experience working with mixed language programming (C, C++ and Fortran), network programming including sockets and MPI; a strong background in computational geometry; experience working with engineering analysis packages such as LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, ANSYS, CFD++; familiarity with commercial meshing tools such as Hypermesh, Gridgen, FEMAP; an affinity for problem solving. The applicant must also have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Individuals with development experience in the gaming industry are encouraged to apply for this position. Issues faced by game developers in creating seamless virtual interactive environments are similar to those faced in modelling complex physical systems.

This is a full time position based out of Martec’s Halifax office.
